Please come for to this 2 hour session to receive team captain packets, important dates and information, and FREE pizza! There will also be a chance to purchase one of our promotional t-shirts for $10 (all proceeds will go to the cause courtesy of JWU’s SGA — more details to come).

Food Committee

10/14/08 (8:29 pm) | Announcements | By: J.J. Atkins

Hello SGA,

I would like to provide you with a unique opportunity!  SGA and Dining helped to create a “Food Committe” 3 years ago. It is not something that we run directly but we help to provide members to create a diverse committee.

The Food Committee meets once a month in one of the designated dining halls to discuss food at the facility and other events that take place during the school year.  They also discuss food quality and menu selections.  This program is a student driven, and sponsored by University Dining  that directly reports to Steven Sandblom , the Director of University Dining.

Another key player is Elizabeth Han, the “Student Voice” for University Dinning.  She is the person students should contact with questions or concerns about any Dining Facility. Working with her in the past has been terrific! She is very happy to look into any issue.

If you wish to be actively involved in providing recommendations regarding University  Dining  please email me at JLA738@jwu.edu.  I would be happy to put you in touch with the right people. Thanks,

J.J. Atkins, Association President

Welcome Class of 2012

04/30/08 (10:18 pm) | Announcements | By: J.J. Atkins

From The President’s Desk:

My warmest welcome goes to the new students starting their journey in this fine community of aspiring scholars! You are about to embark on a four year journey that will be like no other here at “America’s Career University”. I hope that you are as excited to jump into the full college experience as when I started myself.

There are a million questions that run through a new student’s mind. What’s my roommate like? What class do I want to take and when? But remember there is more to the college experience. Don’t forget about the social aspect! Your Student Government is pleased to offer over 70 student run clubs and organizations. You can fool someone into applying and accepting to any University. That only takes a good sales person. There is no fooling someone once they are here. And I am pleased to say that every professor, every staff member, and every administrator are 100% student focused. This ensures you are comfortable in your environment, that you succeed in your studies, and that you find a job after graduation. And somewhere in the mix of things you realize that you became a well rounded global citizen. There is something we’ve got here that really works. It’s more than rankings and statistics and the strength of our incoming freshman classes. It’s about relationships, connections and knowledge that extends beyond books. I am proud of that fact and I am looking forward to building upon it.
